Two days ago, I arrived at Sheila's chalet at around 11pm. Uncle Ivan drove me there and guess what? I fell when I was rollar blading. AGAIN. It was already bad enough when I inflicted a gigantic bruise on my kneecap the other time during rollar blading at the void deck at Sheila's flat. This time, the wound ended up on the knee itself. *sigh* Can't help it that I'm prone to accidents.
Anyway, the chalet was ok. After my fall, I stayed indoors with the WRS peeps and basically just talking crap because there wasn't much to do actually. Sheila's Dad helped by providing me with antisceptic and a piece of plaster. And I went about dressing my wound while keeping my eyes on the TV because some of my classmates were having a game of Street Fighters. I think all of us stayed up till at least 1 to 2am... From what I know, almost all of them fell asleep while watching some kind of horror movie. Was it the Hills Have Eyes? I can't remember... I only remembered lying in a corner of the overcrowded room, slowly drifting off to sleep while holding on to my MP3.
The next morning, after washing up and grabbing a sandwich, I decided I was still hungry. Initially I wanted to tag along with a few of my classmates because they wanted to have a game of pool somewhere at Tampines I think. Then Shiyu and me figured that it wasn't worth spending money on such things. For one thing, I can't play pool for nuts. It wasn't cheap either. After all our purpose for being out of the chalet was clear : FOOD. And so off we went to Changi Airport. Shiyu, Firdaus and I. Only remembered one thing about being there though. It was Freezing. We decided to wait for the lunch menu at MacDonalds at 11am and I had my usual: McFillet meal, student price of course. Then we strolled around the Airport and man it was classy. Definitely world class.
After that we headed back to chalet and the weather was super hot since we were under the scorching afternoon sun. There wasn't much to do under such weather so staying indoors was the best option. Around like 2 to 3pm, the it became cooler and shiyu and I decided to go outdoors. She rollar blade while I bike. The weather was great on our way to the bicycle rental store. It started drizzling once we reach our destination though and that was so sad la... I was so looking forward to biking since I haven't been on a bike for ages. And so naturally we headed back from where we came from. Considering the fact that the chalet wasn't exactly very near the rental store, sure enough we got caught in the rain. The howling wind made the tree branches crack under pressure and twigs were thrown about by the howling wind. And there we were under one of those tiny shelters they had at parks. Ashik had came to join us though. Probably because he saw us while on the bus together with Mei Sing, Shaun and Seok Hwee. The rain got heavier unfortunately. Ashik, being the gentleman that he was, offered to walk back to the chalet to get umbrellas for shiyu and me. We denied of course. So we started playing games right there and then. Truth or Dare, some silly hand games and stuff. hhaa. And yep, we had fun.
The rain persisted and Ashik went to get help for us after all. He returned with Firdaus with 2 umbrellas and shirts to cover Shiyu's skates. We felt so bad after that because Ashik was soaking wet. Once we reached the chalet, we made sure that Ashik hit the bath no matter what. By then, Sheila's relatives were already streaming into the chalet and her parents were preparing for the her birthday party. Oh yah.. and sheila was wearing this blue flowing goddess-like dress with a tudong on and it looked great on her. haha. It was a pity that it rained on her birthday. Meixing, Poon Khai and I helped by bringing balloons all the way downstairs. We tried sticking them to the wall but it didn't work.
The party started soon after. I must admit that Sheila had a HUGE family. I'm not kidding. Because her parents were of different races, she had both chinese and malay relatives. It was quite weird though. I wasn't used to seeing mixture of chinese and malay relatives. The birthday cake was served and the usual birthday song was sung. And yea, the cake was delicious. Wonder if it's homemade... Sure looks like it. haha. Sheila is such a happy person. One of the nicest I ever met too.
So anyway while they wer starting up the BBQ, Sheila's aunt had some games in stored for us. We played Amazing Race. In one of the tasks, we had to tie ourselves and spell sheila's name using our legs. LOL. That was fun. Another group had to spell Sheila's name using their buttocks though and it was hilarious. haha. The next task was what I call being overboard. We are required to fill ten plastic bags with SALTWATER and it was already extremely dark at the beach. Actually what we were suppose to do was to go down to the coastline and fill those bags with seawater. I don't know about others but I find this too dangerous. I mean, being at the beach itself already held some kind of risks but asking us to do it at night? When we can't see anythign at all? What if we drown or something? Even if one of us drowned I don't think anyone knows because it was pitch dark. So what our group did was to head to the nearest girl's toilet. Poon Khai, Yee Ling, Shiyu and I. We filled the bags with tapwater and added a pinch of soil in it to make it look like seawater. After all the card says SALTWATER. It didn't specified SEAWATER.
After the game was over, BBQ was almost ready but I didn't feel like eating. All I wanted to do was go home actually. Homesick I guess? LOL. Anyway, we set off at around 8pm I think. It took me 2 bus rides and 1 MRT ride to get home. Well anyway, it was a good experience. Sheila's birthday party rocks! WHOO!
And once again, Happy Birthday Sheila!
